Speaker 0 00:00:03 Oh, Speaker 0 00:00:05 The places you'll ho, welcome to Heauxvenutres a podcast about the riveting tales of professional Daters. Here's your host, Chantel. Speaker 2 00:00:21 Welcome to the very first episode of ho ventures. I have one of my best ho friends with me today, the one and only Mary Alice. Thank you so much for joining me for my first episode in working out all the kinks. Speaker 3 00:00:40 Hi, y'all um, thanks for having me for like your inaugural episode. I'm so excited. I feel like you've had this, um, this project in the works for so long now and for it to be your, Speaker 2 00:00:52 It really has your Speaker 3 00:00:53 Podcast. Speaker 2 00:00:53 It really has been very long. Um, literally I checked my emails and I signed up for the Twitter on March 1st, 2020. So it's been two years in the making and finally I was like, you know what? I'm I'm back <laugh>. Speaker 3 00:01:12 Hey, good, good things. Take time. Good things take Speaker 2 00:01:14 Time. But like, I just wanna give a quick shout out to Mary Alices cuz first of all, this poor girl, um, she has to listen to all my ramblings about my crazy ideas, my crazy random ideas. And she's just like, listen friend, do it. Like you're crazy. Just go do it. And um, she even helped come up with the tagline for the show. Oh, oh places you'll host. So that was that's. That was like fucking golden. Let me tell you that was like golden. I would not have thought of it. Speaker 3 00:01:48 Don't Speaker 2 00:01:50 I know. Right. I mean, listen, I forgot about most of the Dr. Sue's books that I read back in the day. So, so there's that. Um, but yeah, so enough about me, but yes, again, thank you so much. And I do, oh, appreciate you being and dealing with my technical difficulties. Speaker 3 00:02:09 Oh no, it seems totally Speaker 2 00:02:10 Worth it. Oh my God. Okay. So Mary Alices has a very intriguing, fun date story for us today. So, but first I wanna let everybody know a little bit about you. Um, where is your home base currently? Speaker 3 00:02:27 So I am based in the Baltimore DC area. Um, so I see clients in both. Um, Speaker 2 00:02:34 I see is what an hour apart? Speaker 3 00:02:36 Um, well in good traffic they're an hour apart. <laugh> um, it can definitely, uh, it can definitely vary. Um, there are a lot of folks in the Baltimore DC area, so, um, but yeah, Baltimore DC, Northern Virginia. Speaker 2 00:02:51 Okay. So I mean, that's like, I'm not, you know, I'm from Florida, we're all the way down here. So that's like a quick little loop, right? They're all Speaker 3 00:03:00 Together. Yeah. It's, it's not so bad. And you know, and um, if anybody, if someone makes me a compelling enough offer, I'll go wherever Speaker 2 00:03:06 <laugh> right. I mean, yes. Fly me to use a thing. So how long have you been, uh, dating professionally? Speaker 3 00:03:15 So I started, um, my first year out of college and then I took a brief hiatus, but I came back as Mary Allison in 2017, um, summer fall. Oh, Speaker 2 00:03:28 So I've been back. So been a little minute. Speaker 3 00:03:30 Yeah. I, I made the move from Alabama to, to the Mid-Atlantic area, um, in that time. So, Speaker 2 00:03:38 So she's professional professional people just saying she knows her thing. <laugh> okay. So before you, um, you, you share your, this amazing date story here. I have to know who did all the planning for this awesome date. Speaker 3 00:03:55 It was kind of a collaborative effort. Speaker 2 00:03:57 Okay. Speaker 3 00:03:59 He and I were originally supposed to go to Costa Rica because my dream is to just be at one with the baby sloths. Speaker 2 00:04:06 Oh sloths. Speaker 3 00:04:07 And we have pushed that trip back so many times because of COVID and just the logistics of where the logistics between where the airport is and where the small sanctuary is and trying to get a COVID test to get back into the states. Mm-hmm <affirmative> is just, I know that Airbnb folks are like fed up with me <laugh> oh, switching reservations. Um, but they've been very, very kind about that. So this trip was originally, um, in may, was supposed to be our trip to Costa Rica and we didn't get to go. And he was like, well, where do you wanna go? You know, obviously within the state. So it was a little bit easier. And, um, it had been a while since both of us had been to Vegas mm-hmm <affirmative> um, so I was like, let's go to Vegas and he's like, let's do it. And um, you know, this about me, uh, I love some TikTok. I'm like, I send you TikTok videos all day long, Speaker 2 00:04:58 All day. Speaker 3 00:04:59 Um, and so I saw all these great restaurants and things to do in Vegas and I was like scribbling down and like putting things in my calendar. And before I knew it, I was like, okay, this is our itinerary. And he's like, whatever you wanna do. Speaker 2 00:05:13 So TikTok was your inspiration for this, this date in Vegas. Speaker 3 00:05:17 It really was, especially for Speaker 2 00:05:19 The food. How, how many, uh, days were you guys there? Speaker 3 00:05:24 It was almost a week. Like, I think it was, I think it was five full days. And then obviously with the day we got in and the day we left to come home. Speaker 2 00:05:34 Wow. Okay. So five days filled with TikTok inspirations. Speaker 3 00:05:39 Pretty much Speaker 2 00:05:41 That, that sounds like an epic date. Okay. So was this your first date with this client? Speaker 3 00:05:49 Oh, no. He and I have been seeing, well, I guess, I guess this January made two years Speaker 2 00:05:56 Two. Okay. So since Speaker 3 00:05:58 We first met. Speaker 2 00:05:59 Okay. So we don't know what number of date that is, but you guys been seeing each other for two years. And I think that's important to note because a lot of people, I mean, you could get a lot of fun adventures on a first date, but a lot of people don't understand that, um, that time comes with a lot of the best adventures. You guys get to know each other a lot more. So, um, you definit Speaker 3 00:06:23 Facilitate relationships. Speaker 2 00:06:25 Yeah, exactly. So I'm ready to hear this amazing. I mean, okay. I've already heard this story. Cause you know, she was, she was updating me while she was there and sending me videos and stuff, but you guys haven't heard it. So we are already to hear this epic adventure of five days in Vegas. Speaker 3 00:06:48 So we obviously left outta Baltimore and we get to Vegas. Um, the place I originally wanted to have breakfast was slam packed. It was a Sunday at like brunch mm-hmm <affirmative> and I was like, oh, we're we're not getting in here. So we just ate a burger fry, which is kind of like a five guys, nothing crazy. Oh Speaker 2 00:07:04 My God, no, I love BurgerFi. Don't say that Speaker 3 00:07:06 They have vegan options, don't they? Speaker 2 00:07:08 Yes. They have a good VE burger and they're fries are just top notch. Just, I, you know, I love my fries. Speaker 3 00:07:14 I do you, this may come as a surprise to you. I did not get a vegan burger. Speaker 2 00:07:20 Did not. That's not surprise. Speaker 3 00:07:23 Um, so what we had to, we had to sub burger fry cuz where I wanted to have breakfast, um, they were really, really busy. The next thing we did, we went to a thing called the valley of fire, which is, gosh, I don't even know how you describe it. Like they're I guess rock formations, but they're all like, um, like I guess like red dirt, red clay. So they, it looks like fire. It's what it's names for? Um, I will say that it was very beautiful, but um, you know, me outdoor things are not my jam. Um, but he loves it. Like he would go hiking every time I saw him, if I would do it and I, Speaker 2 00:07:58 I love hiking. Speaker 3 00:08:00 He's like, could I get you shoes? Would you go hiking? If I bought you hiking? I'm like, no, I'm not gonna do that with you. But I appreciate the thought, Speaker 2 00:08:07 Okay. I'm just gonna say to the client, if he's listening, we're gonna team up together and get her to go hiking. Just saying Speaker 3 00:08:16 <laugh> that is a, you know what? You were always one for taking on bold ventures. So that would be, yeah, that would be for you. Um, and so while we were out that way we stopped by, again, something I saw in TikTok it's called seven, seven magic mountains. And it's like these painted stone structures, like almost like a really colorful stone hinge. Speaker 2 00:08:38 Okay. Speaker 3 00:08:39 Um, that I think, I think maybe a university's art department did mm-hmm <affirmative> um, the pictures were okay. There were obviously it's a tourist thing. So there were a ton of people there, but it's just literally like on the side of the road, like super random. And you've got like out in the middle of this like field, the, this art structure. And then that night we ate at this place called the expo and I think it was in the Venesian or the Palazzo. I think those might even be the same hotels. It was in one of those hotels on the strip. Speaker 2 00:09:10 I mean they all looked the same and they're all like connected. So Speaker 3 00:09:14 I think this is the one that has like the gondola in it. Um, Speaker 2 00:09:19 Okay. Okay. So I don't know which one that is. Speaker 3 00:09:22 It's called expo and it is, uh, probably the fanciest hotpot place I have ever seen in my whole life. Speaker 2 00:09:29 Oh, I love a good hotpot. Speaker 3 00:09:31 You would love this then it was just such a neat experience. Um, it was my first time having hot pot. I will say the, um, the staff there was amazing and they like, everything was just so perfect. Um, we did like a sushi, um, a sushi platter first. And then we did like the thin slices of Wu and chicken, um, that you cook in the, the broth. But then we did this additional thing where you it's additional cuts of meat, but they bring it out on this like gold bowl. And um, I'll put it this way. I know that dry ice in reality is not fancy. Speaker 2 00:10:13 It's not oh no, no, no, no, no, no. Dry ice is always fancy. Are you kidding? I love, I will. I will order something with dry ice and not eat it, but I wanna see the dry ice, Speaker 3 00:10:23 Everything have like dry ice. And so they have the golden bowl and they have the little cuts of, uh, steak on it and then they obviously pour water in. And so it smokes out of the bull mm-hmm <affirmative> it was really, really neat. And then the other thing they had, um, they had like, it was like meet the Jetsons or whatever they had this, uh, little robot server that like just, you know, scooted around the restaurant and like brought like condiments and, and other stuff to people. So it was like the little Speaker 2 00:10:52 Oh, like, like made. Yeah. Oh my God. What was her name? I can't remember. Speaker 3 00:10:58 I feel like her name was Rosemary, but I feel like that's wrong, Rosie, Rosie. It was Rosie, Speaker 2 00:11:02 Right? Yeah. Rosie, I just have to ask Marys, is your dog snoring in the background? Speaker 3 00:11:10 Um, she is Speaker 2 00:11:13 <laugh> so Speaker 3 00:11:14 That would be Sophie. Um, my little shadow, actually the fellow that took me, um, to Vegas paid her adoption fee. Shout out to him for that. Um, yeah, for paying the adoption fee for one of the loves of my life. Yeah. She's uh, where I go. She goes, so, Speaker 2 00:11:29 Yeah. Okay. So she's joined. She's your co-host for today? Speaker 3 00:11:33 She is got she's a interviewee. She did not get to go to Vegas though. Speaker 2 00:11:37 Aw, that Speaker 3 00:11:38 Day she's, uh, she's a French bulldog. She's a little too to fly. Um, and I'm not gonna put her in cargo, so yeah, but Speaker 2 00:11:46 She's oh God. Yeah, no Speaker 3 00:11:47 Might so that's that's not Chantel or I that's Speaker 2 00:11:50 <laugh> Speaker 3 00:11:50 That's a dog. That's not one of us. <laugh> Speaker 2 00:11:52 Okay. Hey Sophie. Speaker 3 00:11:55 She would say hello if she was awake. I'm sure. So where were we? <laugh> Speaker 2 00:11:59 Before, before the dog started snoring. Um, okay. So Rosie, the robot was going around with the condiments. Speaker 3 00:12:09 Yeah. I was like, oh, what is that? Um, and apparently like, they do really well there. Um, the servers seem to really like their job and they were like, oh yeah, we make bank here. And I was like, that is amazing. Oh, um, Speaker 2 00:12:23 So, and not like any of my serving jobs. So Speaker 3 00:12:26 I was, so here you go, guys. I was a server for two shifts in, in college. I had a little, uh, hole on the wall restaurant, uh, near where my parents live. And, uh, I quit at the end of the second shift because, um, I wasn't built for that. Speaker 2 00:12:44 Um, I got fired from Hooters for guess, for guess what? Eating French fries <laugh> Speaker 3 00:12:53 No, Speaker 2 00:12:54 I did. Speaker 3 00:12:56 They fired you for eating French fries. Speaker 2 00:12:58 Well, I got in trouble for eating French fries. The real reason I got fire is cuz I went off on, on the manager Speaker 3 00:13:04 For, for telling you not to eat the French fries. Speaker 2 00:13:07 Well, he was very rude. So he deserved the Carson out that I gave him just saying, but back to your dating story <laugh> um, Speaker 3 00:13:18 So I will say that for hot pot, it was, it was not cheap and he just slides me. He's so funny. He just slides me his credit card and he's like, I don't wanna see it. <laugh> Speaker 2 00:13:31 Oh, <laugh> so what did he, what did he do when he went to pay that statement? He just closed his eyes and, and hit pay off <laugh> Speaker 3 00:13:40 He, he forgot that if it's over a certain amount, he gets a text message. Speaker 2 00:13:44 Oh. So he still saw it Speaker 3 00:13:46 As soon as they select it. He was like damnit. Speaker 2 00:13:48 OK, wait. But OK. So for, for our listeners out there, I know that there's a client right now taking notes cuz he wants to recreate this epic Vegas adventure for someone. How much was this bill? Speaker 3 00:14:02 Oh, okay. So with the understanding that I, I don't think either of us ordered any alcohol, so that's important. Um, so there was no alcohol on the bill, Speaker 2 00:14:13 So this is just straight food. Speaker 3 00:14:15 This is just food. Speaker 2 00:14:16 Oh my gosh. I'm Speaker 3 00:14:17 Ready. Um, just shy of 500 for two people Speaker 2 00:14:22 For hotpot, Speaker 3 00:14:24 Which I have a friend who is um, he's a quarter Speaker 2 00:14:28 Hotpot. Mary Alice hotpot. Speaker 3 00:14:30 No, I hear you. I hear you. He's uh, I Speaker 2 00:14:33 Have a friend 500 for hotpot. Speaker 3 00:14:35 Yeah. Speaker 2 00:14:35 Oh my God. I Speaker 3 00:14:36 Said what I said would I would I have done that? Okay. So here's the thing. Was the food worth $500. Speaker 2 00:14:43 That's the, that's the question? Speaker 3 00:14:45 No. Was the experience worth $500? Absolutely. Speaker 2 00:14:51 Okay. I, I can, I can get with that. Speaker 3 00:14:54 I mean the service was just magical and the, the whole experience, I mean, the way that these people have curated this experience is just mm-hmm <affirmative> out of this world. Um, but I do have a friend who is a quarter tie and a quarter Chinese. And when I told him he goes, he's like, I love that my people have conned your people into spending that kind of money for our food. <laugh> Speaker 2 00:15:16 You know, I've, I've recently learned this about FA Vietnam. They eat it, um, like for breakfast every day. Yeah. And meanwhile, I'm over here, like paying like $15 for a bowl and is wild. But I mean, it's like my favorite thing to eat, but anyway, so you paid or not you, but your date. Yeah. I mean, listen, this is the world professional date. It's all about the adventure. You know, the adventure, the fun story to now tell that you, you spent, he spent $500 to experience a slightly above mediocre, hot pot <laugh> but Hey, they had dry ice. So, you know, there's that Speaker 3 00:16:04 They did, they had try ice and then Speaker 2 00:16:06 They had, and Rosie, Rosie, you know, what's costing is having this robot. That's what the cost is, the fancy robot, you know, that's what it is. Speaker 3 00:16:15 The server said though, that they make like six figures. So like, well, Speaker 2 00:16:20 I would imagine, I mean, that's pretty good tip on 500 bucks. So there's that. So, Speaker 3 00:16:28 And they got an even better tip cuz I signed the check Speaker 2 00:16:31 <laugh> of course. I mean, listen, there's nothing sexier than when your date pulls out a credit card to pay and they leave a really good tip or tell, you know, us to write in the tip. I mean that's just really sexy stuff right there. It's quite a turn on. Speaker 3 00:16:48 Cause you know, I'm sure from your few weeks at Hooters and my two shifts at that. Speaker 2 00:16:53 Oh no, no it wasn't a few weeks. It was six months. Speaker 3 00:16:56 Oh really? Speaker 2 00:16:57 Yeah. It was six months. I didn't yeah. I mean I had great tits, so I made, I made money. Speaker 3 00:17:04 I'm sorry. Tips or tits, Speaker 2 00:17:06 Tits. Thoughts. You do have great tips. Yeah. I had people, I mean, this was like way back when, in my younger years, but yeah, I had great tits back then and they were up choice. Oh thank you for all the people that can't see, but oh, I have the video recording <laugh> I think it's, Speaker 3 00:17:26 I think Speaker 2 00:17:27 It's this, I think it's this wonderful night that uh, one of my faves got me. Yeah. So anyway, so this is, this is day one of your trip. And uh, so did you do anything else that evening or just the foodie tour? Speaker 3 00:17:42 It was just the food and then the valley of fire and the magic mountains. Um, I think our reservations at the hot pot place were kind of late mm-hmm Speaker 2 00:17:52 I don't think, well, I mean it's Vegas. Yeah. It's Vegas. You start, you could start eating at midnight. Speaker 3 00:17:58 Which eight out there mean it was really late our time here on the east Speaker 2 00:18:01 Coast. Yeah. Yeah. So what's what happened the rest day two what's going on? Speaker 3 00:18:07 Um, so day two, we finally got to go to the breakfast place because it wasn't um, Sunday at brunch, it was like a Monday mm-hmm <affirmative> the place was called scrambled and it's a breakfast place. Speaker 2 00:18:19 Sounds like a place for only eggs. Speaker 3 00:18:21 Um, they had a variety of stuff. Um, okay. My, um, my fellow, um, he is a breakfast fanatic. Um, he would literally eat French toast every day of the week if he could. Speaker 2 00:18:34 Oh, had you not know this Speaker 3 00:18:36 Loves French toast. Okay. Um, like he bought me a griddle and I was like, thank you for the gift. This is for you. Isn't it Speaker 2 00:18:43 <laugh> of course. <laugh> Speaker 3 00:18:47 Um, you Speaker 2 00:18:47 See that? That's what happens when these relationships build over time, because now he's buying new griddles for you to make him French toast. When he comes to visit Speaker 3 00:18:57 Thing said it does match my toaster and my air fryer and my crock Pott. So Speaker 2 00:19:03 The all white set, Speaker 3 00:19:05 The, all white with the gold, uh, handles. Yeah. So it matches. I was like, I'll give it Matt. I make a really good Dolche Dee, uh, cream cheese stuffed French toast. Speaker 2 00:19:15 Ooh, Speaker 3 00:19:16 It's so good. Speaker 2 00:19:17 Sounds amazing. If I ate dairy, Speaker 3 00:19:22 I <laugh> listen. I told you I could figure out how to do it vegan. I would do that for Speaker 2 00:19:26 You. Yeah. They, they make vegan cream cheese Speaker 3 00:19:29 And they make vegan eggs. Uh, shout out to Milo in Nashville. <laugh> Speaker 2 00:19:33 Yes. <laugh> Speaker 3 00:19:34 Vegan eggs. Speaker 2 00:19:35 Yes. She made, you know, I went to DC with her and that was the first time I had just eggs. She made just eggs for me. Like she made us like this whole vegan breakfast. It was wonderful. Okay. I'm getting totally sidetracked. So at the, at the egg tackle, what was it called? Speaker 3 00:19:53 Scramble Speaker 2 00:19:54 Scramble egg tackle. Just sounds better. So a restaurant name it and give me credit for it. Thanks. So at the egg place, Speaker 3 00:20:03 Scrambled Speaker 2 00:20:04 Scrambled. Speaker 3 00:20:05 So, um, I got, uh, breakfast tacos because if there's one thing about me, um, I will never turn down tacos. Speaker 2 00:20:13 Tacos are good. Speaker 3 00:20:14 Um, I don't see why we should limit tacos. So just Tuesday, um, like tacos today, tacos tomorrow. I'm about that. Um, so I just had breakfast tacos. I think they had like chorizo and then they were really, really good though. And then I had, oh gosh, it was some type of a pancake. Like I think it might have been like a banana fosters pancake. Speaker 2 00:20:39 Oh, that sounds yum. That sounds dumb. Speaker 3 00:20:41 Um, it was really good. And I definitely understand why when we got there on the first day that they were so booked, it was actually in, he Henderson that's that's in Nevada. Speaker 2 00:20:56 Yeah, it sounds right. Yeah. Speaker 3 00:20:57 It was in Henderson. Um, he did cuz he rented a car cuz we wanted to go see all those things and figured that would be easier than Uber and Speaker 2 00:21:04 Yeah, of course. If you're going outside the strip. Absolutely. Speaker 3 00:21:07 Who knows to him for renting an SUV? Cuz I get terribly carsick in cars. Speaker 2 00:21:11 I know this is like an amazing food tour. Did you guys do anything else on day two? Speaker 3 00:21:17 Um, yeah, we ended up going to a neon museum. Speaker 2 00:21:22 Oh. Speaker 3 00:21:22 Um, which is rich is a museum of just tons of uh, neon signs, like giant ones. Speaker 2 00:21:32 Oh like the one behind me. Speaker 3 00:21:34 Yes. I love your, your little ho venture sign. That's perfect. Speaker 2 00:21:37 Thank you. Thank you. Speaker 3 00:21:39 Um, so yeah, so we went there. We wanted to go to, um, you would love this. There's a museum of mob history. Speaker 2 00:21:47 Oh yeah. Speaker 3 00:21:48 I know that's that's right up your alley. I love Speaker 2 00:21:50 Myself to criminals. Speaker 3 00:21:52 We did not make it there. Um, but if you go, I feel like that is definitely like that's a Chanelle thing. Speaker 2 00:21:58 Oh absolutely. I went to the museum of death in uh, in new Orleans LA no in LA when I took my mom for her birthday. Speaker 3 00:22:07 Oh I love that. Speaker 2 00:22:08 Oh yes. We do love my mom. <laugh> Speaker 3 00:22:13 For dinner. We just went to this place called Slaters. Um, they had really good drinks and they had a really good, um, I think it was like a spinach artichoke dip, but it was mostly just like a, um, like a bar, like a sports bar and grill. Um, it was kind of, it might have been in Henderson too. They had a variety of beers and, and he likes, I'm not a beer drinker. Speaker 2 00:22:35 I'm not a beer drinker either. I fucks with wine though. You know Speaker 3 00:22:38 Like, you know me Speaker 2 00:22:40 Take, I drank my liquor wine tasting. Yeah. We, we differ that way. We have like the same brain, but not that. Speaker 3 00:22:47 Yeah. I'll do vodka, tequila, whatever. But wine and beer just doesn't do it for me. Speaker 2 00:22:53 Oh that sucks. So what other things did you guys do in Vegas? Did you see any shows? Speaker 3 00:23:00 So we didn't get to see any shows? I don't think they had really opened a lot of that up. Mm-hmm <affirmative> um, and I learned my trip before that to Vegas. I don't like CTA LA. I mean, I only saw the one show and Speaker 2 00:23:17 Oh I love C sole. Oh my Speaker 3 00:23:20 God. No, it was a little weird and I was with my best friend and like the guy like threw popcorn on people in the audience and I was like, the dress is way too expensive Speaker 2 00:23:28 If he oh, no that no. Okay. That, that I don't like having, I don't like being part of a show where they're interactive with the audience and they start like, you know, throwing like water and stuff on us. Like I'm like, I got black girl hair over here. I can't have all that. You know, don't throw a popcorn in hair, it'll get stuck. I won't find it until like, I go to wash my hair. You know what I'm saying? Speaker 3 00:23:50 When she and I went, uh, a client had actually recommended this show and I was like, Hey, I'm just gonna have to send you an invoice because this was a waste of money. <laugh> I didn't, I didn't send, I didn't, I was joking, Speaker 2 00:24:04 But you wanted to Speaker 3 00:24:05 Love it. And Speaker 2 00:24:06 I was like, it's terrible. Oh no, I love the acrobatics. I always like, in my mind, I'm like, oh, what if I could bend like that? Speaker 3 00:24:16 You can bend like that. Speaker 2 00:24:18 Can I, I don't know. We'll see Speaker 3 00:24:22 The most flexible person I've ever seen. Not me. Speaker 2 00:24:25 Oh, well Speaker 3 00:24:27 I, uh, I don't have knees like Megan, I have knees like an 80 year old. Speaker 2 00:24:31 <laugh> Speaker 3 00:24:33 You? On the other hand, my friend, you are like, Speaker 2 00:24:37 I cannot believe that you did not like the CIR du LA. So what other activities, um, did you guys do before you tell me about the remaining amazing restaurants? Speaker 3 00:24:48 Um, so he is not a massage fan, which I don't, I don't know how anyone could not be a massage fan. Speaker 2 00:24:55 I mean, I literally flew up to Baltimore so that we could have a massage day, Speaker 3 00:25:00 Which shout out to the four seasons of Baltimore, um, great service, Speaker 2 00:25:05 Awesome service. Speaker 3 00:25:06 And their pool bar had a variety of vegan options for you. Speaker 2 00:25:09 They did, they did. I had great burger and fries story for another day. Speaker 3 00:25:17 I go for another time. So he's not a massage person. Um, I am, we stayed at the Mirage, um, which is typically where I stay. When I go there, they just have, you know, good, consistent service and they're, you know, they're conveniently located. So, um, he booked a, a massage for me, which was really sweet. Speaker 2 00:25:36 Oh, that is sweet. Speaker 3 00:25:37 Um, so I don't, I don't know what he did <laugh> while I got a massage, uh, I didn't ask Speaker 2 00:25:44 <laugh> <laugh> Speaker 3 00:25:46 I was, I was doing me and enjoying my spa time and then yes, we got some goodies from the spa to take home so I could, you know, continue that experience. Speaker 2 00:25:55 Yes. Speaker 3 00:25:55 Um, the spa was, was super nice. It was definitely, you know, I feel like Vegas for the most part is not, you know, you have vacations that are relaxing, right? Like if you go to like a beach and you're gonna lay on the beach all day. Yeah. Um, I feel like Vegas tends to be like a, a high energy vacation. So Speaker 2 00:26:14 I don't know how you lasted there. Five days. Like my max in Vegas is too like over two days in Vegas and I'm like ready to die. And this is speaking of somebody who loves adventure. Speaker 3 00:26:25 Listen, if you feed me and take me shopping, I'm down. How many days you need I'm down. I can do it. So Speaker 2 00:26:32 What, okay, so you got a massage, you hung, you lounge at the Mirage and you had amazing food. Which one was your favorite restaurant? Speaker 3 00:26:43 I think my favorite restaurant was probably the last night there. Speaker 2 00:26:48 And which one was, was that? Um, Speaker 3 00:26:49 It's oh gosh, probably like day six or day seven. Um, it was, it was day six. It was before he left. It's a restaurant called berries. It's inside, um, a hotel. Oh gosh. I don't remember the name of the hotel, but it was Barry steakhouse and it was in, uh, downtown Las Vegas. So it wasn't on the strip. Um, I had seen it on TikTok. Um, of course Speaker 2 00:27:13 <laugh> Speaker 3 00:27:14 And uh, I was just like, oh, we're going there. So one of the really neat things they did or rather that we ordered is they have a bone marrow pasta appetizer, Speaker 2 00:27:26 Ooh, this is a video you sent me. It Speaker 3 00:27:28 Is the video I sent you. So the way they serve it is the bone marrow is obviously still in the bone. And then when they bring it out, they scrape the bone marrow bone marrow out into your pasta to enjoy. And then they basically do, what is it? Is it a lose? Is that what it's called? Where they pour the liquor down? It like an ice, but was with, with the, Speaker 2 00:27:48 I dunno, I don't participate in those, in those sorts of activities. That's cuz I'm a lightweight drinker. That's all <laugh> I can't handle my liquor just being poured down my throat like Speaker 3 00:28:02 That. So they did so you're right. That is the video I sent you. So they, yeah, you hold the, the now scraped out bone to your mouth and they pour the liquor down it. Speaker 2 00:28:12 Oh my God. So, okay. Liquor mixed with bone marrow juice. How does that even taste? Speaker 3 00:28:19 Um, I think it was some type of Brandy. Speaker 2 00:28:22 Okay. Speaker 3 00:28:23 Um, but it wasn't bad. It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad. It was, it was a very, um, neat experience it made for a good video. Speaker 2 00:28:31 Okay. But the food here though, was it that at least good? Speaker 3 00:28:35 Oh, amazing. The, the pasta was fantastic. Speaker 2 00:28:37 Okay. So the, just the vodka with the bone marrow was like, eh, but the food itself was amazing. Speaker 3 00:28:44 It was great showmanship. I'll give them that. Um, the food was great. So, um, I had a steak, which I normally do. I think he had salmon or something like that, but they have a lobster Mac and cheese that they serve like in the lobster tail. Oh. Um, so that was an experience. The, they described the whole, I shouldn't say lobster tail. It's the whole lobster, but it was really good. And I forgot what we had for dessert, maybe crem. B's what I always order if it's an option, but the food was great and this is a really weird compliment for them. Probably the best asparagus I've ever had. Speaker 2 00:29:22 I love asparagus. So my Speaker 3 00:29:25 Little brother does too. Speaker 2 00:29:26 I don't, I don't know if it's a weird thing cuz I, I mean I rate people's asparagus all the time. Speaker 3 00:29:33 It was good. It was good asparagus. Um, I didn't check to see if they had the rest of the menu was vegan friendly, but the asparagus was top off. Speaker 2 00:29:42 You know, I was gonna ask you that because you know, a lot of times steak houses do not have like anything vegan, but uh, shout out to my favorite place in Orlando that does have a whole as vegan menu. That's a story for another day. So anyway, of course you're gonna ask me <laugh> CREs, Chophouse. Yeah. Very high end steakhouse, lovely decor inside. Like normally I eat vegan and it's like going in like a little vegan hole in the walls. I don't get to get all dolled up, but this place I got to get all dolled up. So shout out to them. Yeah, we need that. Next time you come visit Orlando, we'll go there. Cuz then I can have an amazing, you know, high end vegan dish and you can have your steak and we'll all be happy Speaker 3 00:30:32 And everyone will be happy kumbaya. Speaker 2 00:30:34 So I need to know though, how much was this billed? Do you, did you get to see that one? Speaker 3 00:30:40 I didn't see this one, but I could probably guesstimate. It was not as much as the hot pot place. Speaker 2 00:30:44 <laugh> okay. So you spent five day, five solid days in Vegas. The hot pot place was the most expensive Speaker 3 00:30:52 I think so. Yeah. Oh, Speaker 2 00:30:54 That's wild. Speaker 3 00:30:55 This was priced like, you know, most higher end steakhouses. Speaker 2 00:31:00 Okay. It was Speaker 3 00:31:02 Probably like two 50 if I had to guess. Speaker 2 00:31:04 I okay. I'm just still in disbelief that a hot pot place, a place that has a pot of hot liquid and things inside costs. I mean it's a fancy bowl of soup. I love it. But $500. That's wild. Speaker 3 00:31:22 Yeah. Um, he spent $500 for us to cook our own food Speaker 2 00:31:26 <laugh> yeah, seriously. Right. Speaker 3 00:31:29 That being said, um, I do highly recommend it if you want just a really nice experience and you really like hot pot and you wanna spend that kinda money, Speaker 2 00:31:38 But the last one was your favorite. Speaker 3 00:31:40 It was definitely my favorite. Um, I am, you know, I am all about a steak. Like I love a, a, a perfectly cooked filet and Mac and cheese, like Mac and cheese. Doesn't love me, but I love Mac and cheese. Um, and I will order it every time. Speaker 2 00:31:57 All right. It's option. You guys hear that? If you are looking for somebody to take out on a date, Mary Alice loves a good food tour. Get her some good steak and good Mac and cheese and you guys will have a fantastic night. So I do wanna know you've been seeing this, this particular client for two years. You guys have another vacation plan soon. Speaker 3 00:32:22 Well, we pushed Costa Rica, uh, out again to may. I don't know if it's gonna happen. Speaker 2 00:32:29 Oh God. Speaker 3 00:32:30 Yeah. I mean everything's paid for and booked. We just keep like pushing it out, Speaker 2 00:32:34 Pushing it back. Yeah. Speaker 3 00:32:36 The logistics are just a mess. Speaker 2 00:32:38 Damn. Speaker 3 00:32:39 Um, I'm like it's okay. I know the baby's loss will wait for me. Speaker 2 00:32:43 Ugh. I won't Speaker 3 00:32:44 Hold people believe in that for me. Speaker 2 00:32:46 I wanna hold them. Speaker 3 00:32:48 But I will tell you, I think the funniest thing from our trip in Vegas, um, which involves me, apparently not being able to read there's an M and M museum, like the candy mm-hmm <affirmative> and um, they have just this wall of just all these variety of M and Ms. And my mom is a chocolate person. And so I was like, oh, I'll get mom, some M and Ms. Well, he dropped me off at the door and went to park. Um, cuz I don't enjoy walking. And um, he comes in and he goes like, holy shit, that's a big bag of M and Ms. And I was like, yeah, it's for my mom. He goes, that's probably like a hundred dollars bag of M and Ms. Speaker 2 00:33:26 Oh my God. Speaker 3 00:33:27 And I said, no, it's not. And he's like, uh, yeah. And I said, I said, no. I said it's $10 for each pound. And I weighed in everything. I got two pounds and he goes, it's $10 per quarter pound. And I was like the Speaker 2 00:33:46 Fuck <laugh> Speaker 3 00:33:48 Uh, so my mom got $80 M Speaker 2 00:33:51 Oh my God. How long did it take her to eat that? Speaker 3 00:33:57 I think she may be still eating them. Speaker 2 00:33:59 Oh my goodness. Wait, Speaker 3 00:34:00 I dunno how long they last. So Speaker 2 00:34:02 When was this trip? Speaker 3 00:34:03 It was in may. So I don't know how long Speaker 2 00:34:05 They may may of 21, right? Yeah. Oh my God. And I mean, they've been exposed to air if you're like getting them yourself. So I don't know. She Speaker 3 00:34:14 Husband in the refrigerator. Speaker 2 00:34:15 Oh, it might last longer. It might. You never know. Speaker 3 00:34:18 She's a little, she's a little weird. So she, God love her, but she puts them in the refrigerator. So I don't, I don't know what that situation looks like currently, but she's like, oh my gosh, this bag of M and MSS is huge. <laugh> Speaker 2 00:34:31 So the moral of this story is if you take a date to Vegas, be prepared to spend some serious cash because it is not cheap to eat in Vegas. Speaker 3 00:34:44 It is Speaker 2 00:34:45 Especially hot, hot, Speaker 3 00:34:46 A lot of cheap city. That's how they get you. Because typically speaking like the flights, aren't very expensive. Speaker 2 00:34:52 I know everybody's like, Ooh weekend in Vegas. And I'm like, Ugh, Speaker 3 00:34:55 That's where they get you. Because the hotels for what they are, are reasonable, you know, as long as you don't take like a water from the mini bar, because it's like $15 for a smart water. Speaker 2 00:35:04 Of course, of course that sounds like an amazing adventure. Speaker 3 00:35:10 I will say. I Speaker 2 00:35:11 Too glad you didn't go on a little hike though, that would've added to the, Speaker 3 00:35:14 Well, we did hikes around some malls. That's my version of hiking. Speaker 2 00:35:18 Mm-hmm <affirmative> <laugh> Speaker 3 00:35:19 Um, so, um, I'm all about a souvenir. Speaker 2 00:35:23 Oh, would you get, Speaker 3 00:35:25 So I will say this shout out tos mm-hmm <affirmative> because it really doesn't matter what SACS I've been to. They all have the best customer service. Like I am definitely a S girl. So I'm, you know this about me. I'm a perfume. Well, I'm a cosmetic collector in general, but um, I love perfume. Mm-hmm <affirmative>, it's my favorite thing. Um, and I love getting perfumes like from dates or from trips because every time I wear it, I get, think about, yeah. I get to think about like them and the experience that we had together. So it's definitely, um, one of my, my favorite things. Uh, Speaker 2 00:36:06 What scent did you get here in Vegas? Speaker 3 00:36:09 So I wouldn't be a professional dater if I didn't have Bacarra Rouge five 40, right? Like that, that, that comes, I think with the uniform Speaker 2 00:36:18 Is what I hear. Okay. I obviously, um, I, I must have like the discount uniform, cuz I don't have that fragrance. So if anybody wants to send it to me, I'd love to have it. You do not it. I think I deserve it. Speaker 3 00:36:31 That being said, yeah, you don't have it always smell fantastic. Speaker 2 00:36:34 I do. Speaker 3 00:36:35 Yeah. I forget what you were wearing that day. But I was like, oh that's nice. <laugh> Speaker 2 00:36:40 Which, which day? Speaker 3 00:36:42 Oh gosh, it might have been Versace something. Speaker 2 00:36:44 I think. I mean what, I mean, which day I could tell you. Speaker 3 00:36:47 Oh, uh, when I was at your house. Speaker 2 00:36:49 Oh, at my house. Speaker 3 00:36:51 Yeah. When we went to lunch, I think you were wearing something. Speaker 2 00:36:55 Was I? No. Yeah. Mm no, no, no. That lunch spot was trash. I wouldn't have put on perfume for that. Oh wait. I might have, because you were there. So yeah, it would've, if it was daytime, it would've been um, yeah. The yellow Versace. I have several Versace. Speaker 3 00:37:14 Yeah. That's one I was thinking of. Yeah. Um, Speaker 2 00:37:16 That sounds about right Speaker 3 00:37:17 For our listeners. Uh, Chantel has a water snob and <laugh> this restaurant tried to serve her tap water and it just wasn't happening. And I walked like several doors down to a different restaurant. I was like, can I buy a bottle of water for Speaker 2 00:37:34 You? Oh my God. Can't believe from, I can't believe you're telling people these stories, listen, this is about your adventure. Not my adventure. I know <laugh> Speaker 3 00:37:43 Um, I will say probably so everything we did, wasn't like ridiculously expensive. Speaker 2 00:37:48 Yeah, of course. But the most, I mean the highlights, Speaker 3 00:37:53 But I think one of the most fun things that we did, um, there was this place called snappy and it was a drive-in movie theater. Speaker 2 00:38:02 Oh, that sounds fun. I've been to one drive in movie theater. I wish they would bring those back. Speaker 3 00:38:08 I don't, this may have been the first one I've ever been to. Um, so they had like a little drive through where you could get like cheeseburgers and all of your snacks, by the way, it was a really good cheeseburger. And I don't even remember like what movie they were playing, like maybe some Xmen or something, but it was so cute and I wish, Speaker 2 00:38:27 Oh my God, like how romantic Speaker 3 00:38:30 It was really, really cute. Speaker 2 00:38:31 Yeah. Speaker 3 00:38:32 Um, and he was glad that the bill was only like 30 bucks. <laugh> Speaker 2 00:38:36 I mean, poor guy. He's gonna have to get a second job if you know, he keeps taking you to fancy places like Vegas. So are there any last highlights of your date that you'd like to share? Speaker 3 00:38:48 I think that's probably it. Oh, and I got a pair of Lu batons while we were there too. Speaker 2 00:38:53 Oh, well another staple in the professional daters uniform. Speaker 3 00:38:58 One thing I will say about the stores in Vegas. Um, I really wanted a pair of air Ms. Sandals, but my feet were swollen from traveling. So I wasn't really sure if they were gonna work or not. Um, and I think that the store in Vegas works on appointment only, which I didn't make one mm-hmm <affirmative>. Um, but they were still nice enough to squeeze me in and let me try on some shoes. Speaker 2 00:39:23 Oh yeah. They they're really good in Orlando as well. I go in there like for scarves, Speaker 3 00:39:29 Very you and your scarves. Speaker 2 00:39:31 I love good scarf Speaker 3 00:39:32 When you've got the top down. Um, you Speaker 2 00:39:34 Know, wait, did Sophie just wake up? <laugh> Speaker 3 00:39:39 Yes. <laugh> hello, Sophie. Speaker 2 00:39:43 She's back there. Growling and shit. <laugh> Speaker 3 00:39:46 Gr Speaker 2 00:39:46 Oh, crunching. Yeah. Speaker 3 00:39:48 She's like a, she's like a pig. She's like a little living with a little pig. Speaker 2 00:39:51 Aw, Sophie. Well, I wanna thank you so much for sharing this fantastic dating story. Again. I just love hearing the adventures from professional dates cuz we're humans, our clients are humans and I just want the world to see just how normal we are. Like we're just normal people going out on fun, adventurous dates. They don't always take place in somebody's bedroom. You know what I'm saying? So thank you so much for being on. And um, I don't know if you have that kitty there with you. I think it might have been your brother's cat, your Speaker 3 00:40:30 Brother's cat. Yeah. Speaker 2 00:40:31 The one that was obsessed with my voice, I'm gonna send you a little voice note to send to him so he can pur up against you and say, hello Speaker 3 00:40:40 <laugh> he does that's Gatsby. He did love it. But yeah, thanks for having me. And I, I think it's so important that you know, that we get to highlight, you know, things that aren't spent solely, you know, in the confines of a, a bedroom or a hotel room. Um, and yeah, we're just normal people who, um, grossly overpay for hot pot. Speaker 2 00:41:01 Yeah. <laugh> that's the takeaway from that's story is that we overpay for hotpot because it's the newest fanciest thing that America feels like we need to have. Um, if you wanna share your story, you can reach me at my website, ho ventures.com. Thank you so much again, Mary Alice, and you know, I'll be talking with you very soon. <laugh> thanks as always keep it sexy. Thanks for listening.
